Accidents

Here one day. Gone the next. It doesn’t matter if it’s lung cancer, a car accident, or an overdose. Life is a fleeting gift. This is not a post about being positive all the time, or self help, or needing to feel good about everything every moment of your life.

This is a call to action. A call to awareness. We have no control over how long we are on this Earth for. It can change at any moment.

We care more about sparing expensive scotch than we do about wasting countless hours of our lives doing nothing. We can always buy more scotch. But you can’t buy back the lost hours, or days, or weeks, or years. It doesn’t matter how much money you have. You can’t buy time. You can’t buy back missed vacations with your family, missed dinners and affogatos with old friends, or the quiet moments in the back yard pulling ivy with your wife while the dog lays in the sun.

This is the level playing field on which we all exist. We are the same.

Get up. Move. Keep doing. Keep talking. Don’t stop. It is the only way.
