If we can’t talk about the hard stuff without having a fit afterwards we aren’t actually adults.
Understanding means listening way more than you talk.
And relationship building means being willing to be wrong and being willing to let someone else be right.
More than that it means you have respect.
Bending, flexing, adapting, and growing. Learning as you go, together.
Not pointing fingers. Not asserting how correct you are. Not steamrolling. But partnership.
It’s surprising how many people are bad at this. Brilliant, high achieving people who don’t know how to be a good partner and leader.
We lead by how we treat others. We grow when we allow them to do what they do best and we get the hell out of the way.
If you’re more concerned with covering your own butt you’re missing out on a chance to grow. A chance to learn. And a chance to be successful.
