Vision

For a while you can survive if there are challenges and interesting problems to solve. Fixing things. Advising. Helping others fix things. You might work with some super smart and hard working people. There’s collaboration and it feels like forward momentum.

For a while.

And at some point things change. Progress stalls. But you keep going. Because it’s what you do. Work hard and persevere. Still lots of problems to solve and that sustains you. You love your team and your realm.

And then you wake up one day and realize you’ve been banging your head against a wall. You’re not getting anywhere and you’re not happy and the usual things aren’t placating your discontent.

You want vision. To drive your own future. To make progress. To grow and be pushed and to grow and push others in bigger and bolder ways. But there’s no path forward.

You want to transition from solving the nitty gritty to solving the bigger picture. To have an impact over more than just the minutiae.

Vision is born out of angst. Wanting more. A vehicle to push your limits and achieve big audacious goals. And once you’ve got a taste for it you can’t go back to what was before.

What’s your vision?
