I learned of a friends passing today. Life’s events can feel so fleeting. As if we are only tethered to the earth by gravity and nothing else. And without it we may simply float from place to place leaving no roots behind.
But that’s not accurate. It isn’t only gravity that holds us. It the way we touch each others lives. A remembrance of something said. A shared memory. Someone reaching out to let you know that you crossed their mind all these years later.
We mark each other with words and hugs and shared experiences. And though they may not last more than a moment they embed themselves in our core. Our spirits intertwine and cannot be pulled apart not matter if death takes hold and pulls us into the unknown. No matter how much time passes. No matter if we are physical or spiritual.
We continue to find each other. This eternal seeking is the true gravity that binds us all together. Holding us in its warmth.
