The worst case someone will laugh at you. But you’ve still gained knowledge that that person is not someone you want to work with.
Best case they say yes and then you get the chance to grow and stretch and learn.
Or maybe you’re afraid of yes. What that could mean. The change it will bring and the ensuing discomfort. Fear of the unknown prevents us from experiencing the thrill of what’s beyond it.
We are so darn good at writing stories in our head that keep us from asking for what we want.
