Then And Now

Every lifetime is an evolution. We learn as we go and ideally continue to learn until the day we die. While we may grow older we are still growing even if we are heading to some sort of inevitability.

It’s impossible not to look back on our younger selves as we age in years. And I find myself doing so regularly. And while I am generally happy with myself and my life and would not change things I sometimes wonder about the things that were hard for my younger self to accept.

A few things I wish I had embraced then that I do now:

My big feet

My broad shoulders

My height

My quads

My femininity

My imperfection

I suppose we have no control over the then of our lives. And how we evolve is a unique and special gift bestowed upon each of us. So it’s more me looking back and saying hey you were alright. You were actually kind of wonderful. And it’s ok that you didn’t know it then because you know it now.

And you, you’re ok. I hope you know that now too.

Hugs.
