Problems Everywhere

I had dinner with four lovely friends tonight. I don’t get out often but it was so nice to spend some time with wonderful people and listen to all their stories about their unique lives.

I was sparked several times during our conversation by what they shared. And I realized something. We all have problems.

I’m not talking about drug abuse or financial stress or relationship issues. Although we all have things like that in our lives too.

I am talking about solvable every day problems. Like how to stay organized. Or how to know what you’re worth when selling your services to others. Or how to communicate. Whatever the problem may be.

I found I was listening with renewed curiosity and enthusiasm. These are problems that have solutions and most people are just waiting for someone to come along and show them the way. They might not even know they have a problem. Let alone a solvable one.

If you’re ever feeling like you can’t have a positive impact on the world or in your life go and have dinner with some close friends and just listen for a while. You’ll see the world through a new lens. And your insight might be just the thing they need. It might also give you some comfort and clarity into solving problems of your own.

Inspired by the Bootstrapper’s Workshop and my sweet friends.
