No Time For BS

I got an email today that just wreaked of bullshit. It was insulting. Disingenuous. A game. And I don’t like being part of a game. Especially one centered around someone else’s ego.

I don’t have time for that kind of crap. And I just won’t put up with it. Maybe that means at some point I’ll burn a bridge. But I don’t take that lightly. One thing I’m good at is preserving relationships. Even with people who would sooner throw me under a bus to get ahead. I know the long game.

And it’s a good reminder to me. Words matter. What I say matters. How I treat people matters. In the best of times. But especially in the worst of times. People will remember how you were when the shit hit the fan and keeps hitting the fan.

Stay humble. Have some humility. And empathy. And don’t spread bs. It’s so much better to be direct and honest but with good intent. Than to say something that you don’t mean and have people see right through it.
