Missing the Point

Not everyone gets you. Not everyone likes what you have to say. People miss the point. And then they tell you where you’ve gone wrong. Typically, they do so unsolicited and condescendingly.

It’s part of life. How you deal with the bs is what makes you who you are. It would be easy to hit reply and give so and so a piece of your mind. But that will only prolong the painful pointless exchange of someone else dumping on you.

It’s not my fault if someone misses the point of something I write. If someone decides to criticize my hard work and willingness to be vulnerable. Likewise I owe them nothing. Nor do I need to feel bad for my choices or my voice.

It is hard to be misunderstood. But not if you put into context the value that this person does or doesn’t bring into your life. If they are a drag, guess what? Ignore them.

People will claw you. Not be happy for you. Nay-say. And miss the point. Let them. They aren’t worth the clarification. Because they don’t care. And as soon as you realize that, you have power.
