This month is National Novel Writing Month or NaNoWriMo as it’s known in the writing world. I’ve signed up (again) to write fifty thousand (50k) words by the end of the month. It’s a daunting goal but I’m excited to face it head-on. November is a month where for writers anything becomes something.
I know I can write that many words. I’ve already done it three times now. What I’m most looking forward to is how I’ll respond when things don’t go well. When getting any words at all feels impossible. And when the inevitable self-doubt creeps in.
In the end, it’s not about how many words I write. It’s really about sitting down each day and writing them. You can’t write anything until you write something. And to write something you’ve got to write anything.
