Watching the sun rise over a mountain in Hawaii. Watching the sun set over the Pacific.
Lou learning that he could dive in the water on his own. Going down a water slide over and over again with Lou in my lap. Swimming all morning. Throwing sand at the ocean.
Watching my wife and son pressed together sleeping peacefully after a wonderful morning of fresh fruit, swimming, and Planet Earth.
Watching The Sound of Music for the first time in over 20 years. Watching Lou dance while Georg von Trapp sings Edelweiss.
Remembering my mom and grandfather Rollit. I swear Georg is the spitting image of a young Archibald Dixon.
Ending the day with Lou between us while he attempts to settle down from another great day in paradise. It must be hard to sleep knowing that tomorrow can be full of such wonderful surprises and adventures.
I hope for many many more days like this with my loved ones and I’m grateful we could spend this time together.
Here’s to 363 more beautiful days in 2019.
